Seal Up Your House from Rodents

It’s finally getting chilly here in Northeast Ohio and everyone is heading indoors. Keep in mind though that you’re not the only one wanting to get inside, mice and squirrels are too and your house is their perfect escape!

There are many important steps to prevent infestation inside the home. It is recommended to seal all possible points of entry around the house, including small openings and cracks around doors and windows. Screen vents and openings to chimneys. Keep food in airtight containers and dispose of garbage regularly. Keep tree limbs cut back 6 to 8 feet from the roofline. Inspect wires, insulation and walls for any signs of gnaw marks, which may indicate an infestation. If you find feces, hear sounds of scurrying in the walls or observe other signs of an infestation, contact a licensed squirrel control professional to inspect and treat the pest problem. To avoid rodent bites, have a specialist handle removal.

Mice are especially an issue! Did you know, if you can stick a pencil through a hole, a mouse can fit into it & they can run up a wall without any support?! So be sure to seal up small holes & anything 3 ft & below.
